Doxycycline

Doxycycline is an antibiotic used for the treatment of bacteria-induced infections. Your doctor needs to know everything about your medical history to prescribe this drug - including if you have liver or kidney disease. Doxycycline is not intended for children under 8 years old as it can affect the growth of the child and cause permanent teeth graying or yellowing. Take doxycycline exactly as prescribed by your doctor - you mustn't exceed or decrease the dosage based on your individual assumptions. This medicine should be taken with a full glass of water unless otherwise recommended by your health care provider. The tablet or capsule of this drug should be taken whole with a full glass of water. It's not usually recommended to take doxycycline with dairy products as these may reduce the efficiency of the medicine.

Even if you think your symptoms have improved do not stop taking doxycycline until you used the entire amount prescribed. Many patients feel a lot better after just a couple of days, which doesn't mean all the bacteria have been eliminated. Do not use doxycycline past its expiration date as it may result in serious kidney damage.
